    Kindergarten Registration

Riverdale School will be accepting Kindergarten registrations for the 2019 - 2020 school year beginning February 1, 2019.  A child must be 4 years old on or before March 1, 2019 to start Kindergarten in the fall. Registrations are accepted until April 15, 2019 at 4pm.  Registrations are not collected in any particular order.  If we do not have enough space to accommodate all of the Kindergarten students wanting to be at Riverdale School, we will offer spots to students living in our attendance area first, spots to siblings of the students already pre-enrolled at Riverdale School for the 2019-2020 school year and then to students coming from outside our attendance area.

If the number of students who want to attend our Kindergarten exceeds the space available, new applicants from outside the school's designated attendance area (but within the City of Edmonton) are chosen by a random selection. The random selection process is conducted by District Administration to ensure that all students are provided equal opportunity to attend Riverdale School.

    • Registration forms are available at the school office or by clicking on the following: Registration Form
    • Please bring your child’s birth certificate, and a proof of address to register
    • If your child was not immunized in Edmonton, please bring their records.

Principal's Welcome Message

At Riverdale School, we strive to ensure high levels of learning for all of our students. Staff work collaboratively to ensure that quality academic and enrichment experiences for our children both support and challenge them as learners. Children are seen as individuals and are provided for as such. We envision a school that is responsive to the needs of our school community, and challenge each child to master the core competencies needed to be contributing and successful adults. Riverdale School is a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment.

Riverdale has a community culture, and fosters positive parent-school relationships. We encourage parents to take an active role in the academic and personal lives of their children. Together we will ensure the success of every child.

Riverdale is also supported by a very active Parent Council. Our parent group offers a vast array of enrichment experiences for our children.

I am truly honored to lead this community of learners in preparation for the opportunities inherent in our ever changing world.

On behalf of myself and all the staff, I welcome you to Riverdale School.

Cynthia Kelly
