    Kindergarten Registration

Riverdale School will be accepting Kindergarten registrations for the 2020 - 2021 school year beginning February 3, 2020.  A child must be 5 years old on or before December 31, 2020 to start Kindergarten in the fall. Registrations are accepted until April 15, 2020 at 4pm.  Registrations are not collected in any particular order.  If we do not have enough space to accommodate all of the Kindergarten students wanting to be at Riverdale School, we will offer spots to students living in our attendance area first, spots to siblings of the students already pre-enrolled at Riverdale School for the 2019-2020 school year and then to students coming from outside our attendance area.

If the number of students who want to attend our Kindergarten exceeds the space available, new applicants from outside the school's designated attendance area (but within the City of Edmonton) are chosen by a random selection. The random selection process is conducted by District Administration to ensure that all students are provided equal opportunity to attend Riverdale School.

    • Registration forms are available at the school office or by clicking on the following: Registration Form
    • Please bring your child’s birth certificate, and a proof of address to register
    • If your child was not immunized in Edmonton, please bring their records.

Principal Message

My name is Joleen Kitt and as the new principal, I am honoured to have joined the students, staff, parents and community of Riverdale School. Riverdale is a vibrant community school and we are fortunate to have high levels of community and parental engagement.

At Riverdale School, we believe that educating our students is a collective responsibility, shared by students and their families, school staff and the entire community. Through a collaborative approach in working together with you as partners, we will maximize the potential of all students. We are committed to providing a positive learning environment that will foster and support high academic and behavioural expectations, capitalizing on the value of strong relationships.

As a school, we use SchoolZone as our primary mode of communication and we encourage our parents to check SchoolZone daily to receive timely information.

If you have children here, we are so thankful you have chosen Riverdale School.  We look forward to working with them each day. If you don't have children here, Riverdale School is a welcoming environment where we all work together to ensure that all of our students learn at high levels as responsible, productive and engaged citizens within the global community.

Yours in Partnership,

Joleen Kitt
