    School Philosophy

    Riverdale School exists to develop and prepare students for a lifelong journey of learning. We offer a collaborative, inclusive, and safe environment for K-6 children to express themselves, learn, and grow into well-rounded students prepared for the adventures of junior high school and beyond.

    We believe in academic excellence, paired with sporting activity, and arts, all wrapped up with a focus on environmentalism and learning about the land that surrounds our school. Students at Riverdale School experience smaller class sizes that empower teachers to meet learners where they are at in their educational journey.

    Our students leave Riverdale School optimistic and prepared to tackle the next phase in their education both in and outside of the classroom. Fostered through supportive parent-teacher relationships and a safe community filled with folks who look out for one another, Riverdale School sets students up for success in education and life.

Registration Information

KINDERGARTEN OPEN HOUSE FOR THE  2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

If you have a child who will be attending our kindergarten program next year, please join us for our Kindergarten Open House on Thursday, February 13th, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. At that time, you will receive programming information, take a tour of the classroom and school, and have the opportunity to ask questions you may have. 

Registration forms must include a minimum of two documents that confirm address (Utility Bill, Phone Bill, Property Tax documentation), as well as a birth certificate or valid passport for the child. Children five years old on or before December 31, 2025, may register in Kindergarten for the 2025–26 school year.

***Please note that our Open House is an adult-only event. We look forward to seeing you there.

 

2025-2026 NEW STUDENTS IN GRADES 1 TO 6

To register your child(ren) in grades 1 to 6, we ask that you contact the school office, and we will schedule a time for you to tour the school.

2024-2025 NEW REGISTRATION FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 1 TO 5

If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools (EPS), you can register for the 2024-2025 school year online. Simply click HERE!

2024-2025 NEW STUDENTS IN GRADES 1 & 6, 

For the 2024-2025 school year, Riverdale School is full in planned classes in Grades 1 and 6. We will now only accept resident students in those grades whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have newly moved into the school’s attendance area for the regular program. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enroll in another Division school with space in planned classes.

CURRENT DIVISION STUDENTS PRE-ENROL

Sign in to SchoolZone between 8 a.m. on February 3rd and 4 p.m. on March 19th, 2025, to select your child's preferred school for the 2025-2026 school year. 

When you sign in to your parent SchoolZone account on your computer, tablet or smartphone:

  • choose Next Year
  • select the name of the child you are pre-enrolling
  • follow the instructions to select your child’s preferred school for next year
